Your pregnancy month nine
You
By now your are probably sick of being pregnant, don't worry your baby will be here in the next few weeks!. This month is possibly the most uncomfortable as your baby drops and puts more pressure on you bladder (meaning that you will be running to the toilet more frequently). You may also notice that your hips ache, your baby is getting big now and your poor hips have a lot more weight to carry!.
You may also find that your back starts to (or continues to) ache this is also a result of your baby's increasing size and weight although it can also be through Braxton hicks contractions or even an early sign of labour! If you haven't already now is a good time to lack your bag for the hospital if you are having a hospital birth or to make sure you have everything ready if you are having a home birth.
Don't worry if your baby is overdue many pregnancies go on for more than 40 weeks especially the first pregnancy.
Your Baby
If your baby were born during this final month it would probably be healthy (although those born right at the start of the month may need a day or two in hospital). A baby is considered full term from 38 weeks.
Your baby is getting fatter each day in preparation for life outside the womb and by the start of this month everything down to his tiny fingernails are fully formed.
